How to Clear Your Browser Cache in Chrome

 

  1. There are 3 ways you can clear your cache in Chrome:

  • Open your Chrome browser and click the “Menu button located at the upper-right corner of your window. Hover on “More Tools” and then click “Clear browsing data.”
  • Using your keyboard, press “CTRL” + “Shift” + “Delete” keys in Windows or “Command” + “Shift” + “Delete” in a macOS.
  • Click on “Menu,” “Settings,” and then under the “Privacy and security” tab, click “Clear browsing data.”

 

2. Choose the time period that you wish to delete the cached data by using the “Time Range” drop-down menu. You can then choose whether to include the browsing history, cookies, and other site data, and cached images and files by ticking their checkmark.

Clicking on the “Advanced” tab allows you to customise further the type of data you want to clear. These include things such as passwords and other sign-in data, autofill form data, and hosted app data.

3. When everything is set, click on the “Clear data” button from the window, and Chrome will go ahead and clear your cache together with the other data that you selected.

How to Clear Your Browser Cache in Firefox

  1. Click on the menu button  and then choose “Options.” 
  2. Click on the “Privacy & Security” panel.
  3. From the “Cookies and Site Data” section, select “Clear Data.”

  1. You can uncheck the box before “Cookies and Site Data” to keep all of your browser cookies.
  2. With the “Cached Web Content” ticked, you can click on the “Clear” button to clear your browser cache in Firefox. 

 

Tip:

A quicker way to clear Firefox cache is to click on the Library button |||\, select “History,” and then click “Clear Recent History.” Besides “Time range to clear,” select “Everything” from the drop-down, choose “Cache” from the items list, and then ensure that other items you want to keep are not selected. You can also set your Firefox browser to automatically clear the cache as soon as you close the browser.

  3. From the drop-down menu by “Firefox will,” select “User custom settings for history.”

5. Now, click on the “Settings” button next to “Clear history when Firefox closes” where you will be brought to a new window.

6. In here, you will need to tick the box next to “Cache” and then click “OK” to exit the window.

Tip:

Firefox has several add-ons that can let users clear their cache by simply clicking an icon on their toolbar. Head over to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page and perform a search for these apps.

How to Clear Your Browser Cache in Opera

 

  1. From the title bar of the browser, click on the “O” Opera icon or the “Menu” button.

  1. In the menu, click on “Settings” and then select “Data and Security” next. 

3. Just below the “Privacy” headline, you can find a button that says “Delete browsing data,” which you can select.

  1. A new window will appear. From there, choose “the beginning of time” from the first drop-down menu. Select “Cookies and other site data” as well as “Cached images and files” from the checklist. You can also select other data that you want removed.
